The Belly Dancing class ** is a special 6 week class and is $70. Please enquire about the schedule of this class. The next session begins March 10th.
Beginners: I recommend taking some Alignment classes first before you add Vinyasa and Power classes to your schedule. If this is not possible, I recommend a few private lessons to learn the basics.
Alignment - learning and refining the alignment of forward bends, backbends, twists, all standing postures, and some inversions; learning the basics of sun salutations and linking breath to movement. Learn how to modify and use props. Some philosophy and meditation is introduced. The longer holds build strength and stamina.
Vinyasa - linking breath and movement in a flow, slow enough to modify for particular needs and give in-depth instructions. More challenging postures and deeper pranayama (breathing techniques) will be introduced. Basic understanding of breath and alignment is recommended.
Power - more vigorous vinyasa, inspired by Ashtanga Yoga. Repetative, steady vinyasa requires prior experience and understanding of safe alignment, so no beginners please. We will rotate between Ashtanga's 1st and 2nd Series and Power Joyflow.
CoreStrength - a fun energizing workout designed for weight loss, muscle toning and strength building, combining traditional moves with Yoga and Pilates. Beginners welcome.
Restorative - meditative class will consist of gentle flows of breath and movement, restorative (advanced lying around), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. Beginners welcome.
Cardio Shimmy - shake and shimmy yourself into shape with a fun fitness class of belly dancing related basics and warm-ups. Beginners welcome.
