It’s best not to eat a heavy meal before your session, but a light snack is ok. DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING? No. Just bring yourself and a willingness to explore something new and different. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW IS INSIDE OF YOU
In the process of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy I will be holding you in simple stretches and yoga postures on a soft futon on the floor. We move very, very slowly while I encourage you to breath deeply and focus inward. I will occasionally ask you what is happening now? Your answer is for you to hear, not for me. I will then repeat your response back to you, again just for you to hear. I may invite you to explore any sensations, emotions or memories as they arise. One of the first things you will notice in a PRYT session is your tendency to hold back and not let go. Trusting and relaxing enough for someone else to hold you is a very profound experience for many people. My background The Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy training was an intense and in-depth experience which took me over 2 years to complete. It involved 4 week-long intensives and 6-months of training, feed-back and counseling from a mentor. I received my certification in PRYT in 1998. I have over 20 years of yoga experience, as well as some massage and Tai Yoga therapy training which support my skills in PRYT. I have also been studying to become an Enneagram consultant. The enneagram is a study of the personality and how we are influenced by our deepest needs, fears and motivations. I have found that PRYT and the Enneagram work very well together, maximizing the benefits of each.
